So I made this tutorial, which should be the first one of many more, to help anybody who desires to start music to find some good ressources!
I know what it is to love some music and not knowing how to do it. I’ve spent days after days studying songs when I was a teen and I still do that when I’m in love with a song. At that time I wished I had some tutorials to teach me some basic principles, that would have saved me some precious time.
So I hope you’ll enjoy that one.
Here is the mp3 of the project: Side Chain Tuto MP3
And here is the project so you can practice. Side Chain Tuto Project

Great tutorial! I think you can simplify this a bit by inserting the compressor on the stereo buss and assigning the compressor’s side-chain input from the Kick drum (or even, better, an aux out from the kick drum).
This effect is all over club records (Daft Punk - Discovery used it, almost to the point of parody :-)). A nice effect to use and abuse!
